That rely on unlock should use Sn0wbreeze not Redsn0w, why? Sn0wbreeze 2.8 beta 6 allows you to jailbreak iOS 5 beta 6 .
Step 1: Beginning Sn0wbreeze, click the arrow next to color "blue" to proceed.
Step 2: Select the required file iOS for your device by clicking on the button "Browse".
Step 3: Sn0wbreeze now identify the IPSW file you selected. Once done, click the next arrow color "blue" to proceed.
Step 4: Now select the "Expert Mode", followed by the option "Build IPSW" to begin to create the custom firmware.
Step 5: 2.8 Sn0wbreeze greet you with the following "done!" message when the custom firmware was created successfully.
Step 6: Now follow the steps on screen to enter DFU mode using Sn0wbreeze:
Hold Power and Home buttons for 10 seconds
Now release the power button but continue holding the Home button for 10 seconds more
Device should be in DFU mode
If you followed the steps correctly, you will get the following message from 2.8 Snw0breeze
Step 7: Start iTunes, click on your iOS device icon from the sidebar in iTunes. Now press and hold the left button on your keyboard to "Shift" and click "restore" (not "upgrade" or "check for Update") button in iTunes and then release the button.
This will make iTunes prompts you to select the path to the custom firmware 5. Select the required custom file created above and click on "open".
Step 8: Now sit back and enjoy as iTunes does the rest for you. This will involve a series of automated steps. Be patient in this stage and not do anything stupid. Just wait whilst iTunes installs new firmware on your device 5 of iOS. Device iOS screen at this point will be showing a progress bar indicating the installation progress. After the installation is done, the device iOS will be jailbroken on iOS 5.
